Wedding Frenzy
[interactive device]“I'm going to let people experience the panic of the Chinese “wedding hazing mess” in a deeper way.”
INTRODUCTION:I analyzed the unreasonable and absurd phenomenon of “wedding hazing” in Chinese weddings, extracted the element of “body traces”, and built an interactive installation around “touching”, “defilement” and ‘scandalization’ behaviors to design an interactive installation. During the experience, participants' bodies are constantly “bullied” and left with traces, experiencing first-hand the discomfort caused by wedding bullying in an uncomfortable experience that is recorded by onlookers.

In 21st century China, it is surprising that a large number of people are still playing wedding pranks and enjoying it. The plethora of wedding pranks I've browsed through reveals that many of the behaviors are sexually related, with guests committing sexual violence against the bride and groom for joking reasons. Such behavior makes the whole wedding a farce. The bride and groom and their parents and bridesmaids are the victims of this, and the more they resist, the more excited theperpetrators get.
[Interviews with people]When I interviewed and researched people around me on the issue of vulgar wedding hazing behavior, people were aware of and witnessed the issue of wedding hazing behavior and expressed their resistance to the behavior.
I list three forms of wedding hazing behavior: physical assault; sexual harassment; and insulting behavior, and conclude that vulgar hazing wedding behavior is rooted in the sexual repression that has characterized China for more than 5,000 years. Therefore, I use the corruption process of the “apple” as a symbolic element to abstractly represent the process of people being subjected to wedding hazing, and people's wedding hazing will leave various traces on the victim's body, and these traces will be the proof of the victim's persecution.
I designed three different ways of experience according to the three kinds of wedding hazing behaviors: body bondage; body touch; body stigmatisation; I designed shackles for bondage, persecution robots, contamination light table, etc. The whole installation is designed like a persecution cage, in which the experiencer needs to experience the whole experience until his body is defiled to end it. At the same time, there is also an apple device in the installation, the gradual damage and contamination of the apple will represent the degree of persecution of the experience.

Installation
During the course of the exhibition there were unforeseen situations on site, such as the white floor stained with red liquid, and the audience's recording and touching of those who experienced it, all of which will become part of the Wedding Hazing Bully Seal.
Experience
STAGE:1—The experiencer enters the device and is restrained.
